United States: Canadian tourist found & rescued after stranded in Arizona canyon

As reported by www.kpho.com, “Crews are rescuing a tourist who got stranded on a narrow ledge about 700 feet from the bottom of Oak Creek Canyon near Flagsatff. On Thursday about 10:30 p.m., Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Junipine Resort for a report of a missing woman. A resort employee told authorities that Elise Heon, 50, of Candada, was supposed to check out at 11 a.m. Thursday but had not been seen. Deputies found her wallet, identification, cell phone, clothing, glasses and iPad still in the room. A worker recalled Heon asking about nearby hiking areas. Search and rescue crews searched the area throughout the night and morning.” Read Article
