dailymail.co.uk reported millionaire North Face founder dies in kayaking accident: Doug Tompkins, 72, succumbs to hypothermia as waves flip his boat on lake deep in the Patagonian wilderness

Douglas Tompkins died from severe hypothermia after his kayak capsized in General Carrerra Lake in the Patagonia region southern Chile
He was boating with four or five other foreigners on Tuesday when all of the kayaks capsized at about noon
Tompkins died in the intensive care unit of the hospital in Coyhaique, a town 1,056 miles south of Santiago. Read Article
