Nepal: 12 trekkers killed in snowstorm, avalanche in Himalayas, 100 still missing

dw.de reported more than a dozen trekkers(many are foreigners) have been killed in a snowstorm and avalanche in the Himalayas. Officials said a further 100 people “remain out of contact”. At least 12 trekkers were killed in treacherous weather conditions in the Himalayas on Tuesday evening. Some news agencies had put the death toll higher, which included several local guides.
The snowstorm and avalanche hit groups of trekkers and guides on the Annapurna circuit in central Nepal. Police official Ganesh Rai, who is in charge of the rescue operation said, “There has been heavy snowfall in the area, up to three feet (91 centimetres).” Read Article

Seven pilgrims killed in flooding in Nepal

Indian citizens robbed by restaurant workers in Nepal
