Portugal: Belgian tourist killed after being swept off Peniche cliff top by wave

As covered by theportugalnews.com, “A Belgian tourist has died after being swept to her death by waves from a cliff-top in Peniche as she took pictures on a family holiday. Pedro Vinhas Silva, head of the Peniche Coastguard, said the 45-year-old woman was swept from Cabo Carvoeiro cliff-tops by a wave as she was taking pictures near the lighthouse. Her body washed ashore twenty-four hours later (today) north of Baleal beach, Peniche. The tragedy occurred at around 10.30am Thursday morning (4 April).
