London, England: One month before the games road restrictions go into effect

Roads in the capital could become congested within three weeks as 1,300 sets of traffic lights are adjusted to ensure a quick traffic flow along Games lanes. A week later the Kingsway Tunnel at Aldwych will be reversed so the traffic flows southbound to ensure the world’s media can have a quicker journey to the Olympic Park. Motorists are urged to avoid central London from mid-July as the major road changes are implemented earlier than expected to give London 2012 Olympic athletes and VIPs priority use on key roads.
