Thailand: Chinese tourist injured in fall from cliff in Pattaya

Bangkokpost.com reports that a tourist from China was injured after falling off a cliff at a viewpoint overlooking Pattaya on Saturday, rescue workers said. Xiew Jing Yee, 61, sustained back and neck injuries in the eight-metre fall. Workers from the Sawang Boriboon rescue unit spent an hour to get her to safety and she was taken to a hospital in Pattaya city. The unit quoted her as saying that she had been admiring the view of Pattaya from the cliff before the fall. She had arrived in Thailand on Tuesday and was staying at the City Boutique Hotel in Pattaya. She had been scheduled to return to China on Saturday. Read article
