According to multiple sources, Sunday afternoon, the U.S. State Department extended embassy and consulate closures in 15 of the locations through Saturday, and added four other posts — all in Africa — to the list. This brings the total to 19. Britain said on Monday that it was extending the closure of its embassy in Yemen by two days due to continuing security concerns. Norway has decided to close its embassy in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, the Norwegian broadcast company NRK reported on Monday. France will close its embassy in the Yemeni capital Sanaa until Wednesday after the United States and Britain also extended the closure of missions because of fears of a terrorist attack by Al-Qaeda.
