Philippines: Six tourists rescued, one hospitalized after tour boat capsized

According to manilatimes.net, park rangers and Coast Guard authorities at the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) on Tuesday morning rescued six tourists, their boat operator and their tour guide from a motorized banca that capsized due to rough waves and strong winds at Sabang Bay, Barangay Cabayugan. Jan Elmer Badilla, spokesperson of the PPUR Management Office, confirmed the report and said all those rescued are now safe and being attended to by a nurse from the Cabayugan Satellite Clinic after their motorized banca they used to visit the underground river keeled over at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. One of the guests, who was not named immediately, is slightly hurt from the accident and waiting to be brought to a hospital. Read article
