Philippines: Government department expects 10 million tourists by 2016

As reported by balita.ph, “The Department of Tourism (DOT) is expecting an increase in tourist arrivals to 10 million by 2016, tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. said in a speech at the Manila Hotel on Wednesday. In a general membership meeting with the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PhilTOA), Jimenez recognized both the stakeholders and the public for being the reason behind the Philippine tourism reaching 4,272,811 visitors, a 9.07 percent increase from the 3,917,454 tourists since 2011.” Read Article
