On average 5500 new HIV diagnoses in Argentina per year

diariopanorama.com reported that the average of reported new cases of HIV-AIDS remained stable in the last five years, with 5500 diagnoses per year, the Ministry of Health. He said that of this total, 90% are people who became infected through unprotected sex, and about 100 new cases per year are children who are infected by their mothers. The health portfolio gave the report to further its commitment to the World Day to Combat HIV-AIDS, held on December 1, noting that “in those circumstances, the national government promotes testing and guarantees free treatment in health centers around the country. ”
The study indicates that in Argentina there are about 110,000 people with HIV, four of every thousand people are infected with HIV and 40 percent of them know your status. Each year there are 1,400 deaths from this disease. Read Article
