Mali: fear of growing violence, clashes continue between government forces, rebels

AFP reported – Malian forces exchanged fire with Tuareg rebels in the northern town of Kidal on Sunday, sparking fears of growing violence in the region. Malian soldiers traded gunfire with Tuareg rebels in the country’s northern town of Kidal on Sunday, residents said, raising fears of escalating violence in the region. The violence came just three days after the Tuareg-led separatist group MNLA broke its ceasefire agreement with Mali’s newly instated government. Read Article
