Israel: American tourist raped in store at Jaffa flea market

The Jerusalem Post reports that a 25-year-old tourist from the United States was raped in the middle of the afternoon at a store at the Jaffa flea market earlier this week, Yiftach subdistrict police said Thursday. The woman came to the flea market in the afternoon – when it is typically full of visitors – and entered a store, where the owner brought her into a back room and raped her, while threatening her. The man then brought her to the store next door, where he and a man working there sexually assaulted her, police said Thursday. The two suspects, a 38-year-old Ra’anana man and a 44-year-old man from Holon, were arrested on Wednesday and will be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s court on Thursday for a remand extension.
