Indonesia: Japanese tourist arrested, possible 12 year drug possession sentence

As covered by thejakartaglobe.com, “A 35-year-old Japanese tourist on Thursday went to court on charges of possessing less than a gram of marijuana — a crime which could land him in jail for up to 12 years if he is found guilty. Store-owner Watanabe Shinichi was arrested during a police raid at a nightclub in Kuta on Dec. 23, 2012, where police said he was found to be in possession of 0.72 grams of the outlawed substance.
