French tourists assaulted on a beach in New Zealand

According to tvnz.co.nz, police are still searching for a second assailant following an assault on two French tourists in Napier. Police say the French couple, a 22-year-old man and woman, were attacked in their campervan in the Whakarire Ave carpark at the end of Westshore Beach in Napier about 10.45pm on Saturday. They were approached by a man and a woman who asked for a cigarette lighter. The male victim received injuries to his face and eye after he was pistol-whipped.
