Dengue Fever takes 23 lives so far in 2013 in Parauay

lmcordoba.com.ar reported that a new dengue epidemic forced the health authorities to enact national epidemiological alert on 8 January. Health authorities in Paraguay today raised to 23 the death toll due to dengue so far this year, a total of 21,367 suspected cases of the disease. The Director General of Health Surveillance ministry area, Celia Martinez, said the weekend confirmed four new deaths from dengue fever, which rose from 19 to 23 the death toll so far this year. The new fatalities were reported in the Central Department, adjacent to Asunción, which has the highest rate of disease involvement. Read Article
