Colorado: U.S. District Court in Colorado indicted Brazilian tourist for trying to have sex with two minors

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – A citizen and national of Brazil appeared in U.S. District Court on Thursday charged with traveling internationally to have sex with two minors under 16 years of age and under 12 years of age. These charges were announced by U.S. Attorney John Walsh, District of Colorado, and Special Agent in Charge Michael A. Holt of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Denver.Paulo dos Santos Silva Jr. was arrested on Feb. 25 by HSI special agents without incident at the Grand Junction, Colo., airport. At the March 1 appearance, Silva waived his right to preliminary and detention hearings. The magistrate judge ordered Silva detained without bond pending resolution of his case. Read article
