UK Bolivia Safety and Travel Advice
Social conflict is common in Bolivia and blockades may occur along the main roads without notice. Public transport can also be disrupted at very short notice and strikes may result in widespread road blockades including on roads to and from airports. Due to the risk of violence, you should never try to cross a blockade. See Safety and Security – Local Travel.

There is a risk of ‘express kidnappings’. Exercise caution when arriving in, and travelling around, Bolivia and be aware of the general risks of crime for visitors. Use a registered taxi firm if a taxi is required. See Safety and Security – Read Report update to Yellow Fever information
