New Zealand: Missing Chinese backpacker found in National Park

Stuff.co.nz reports that police have found a Chinese backpacker missing since Sunday in National Park, in the central North Island. A search team found the man alive just after 1pm today on the outskirts of the area, police said. Police earlier boosted their search teams to look for the backpacker. One team searched throughout the night for the man and six more teams were deployed early this morning. The tourist, who has not been named, had not been seen since Sunday when he went for a walk in the National Park area near Mt Ruapehu armed with only an umbrella. Read article
