New Zealand: Czech hiker’s car robbed and burnt

According to a report from stuff.co.nz, a lone tourist’s car was burnt to a crisp at North Egmont on Wednesday night, leaving him with little more than the clothes on his back. Czech Republic native, Jiri Vasicek, 32, arrived on Wednesday hoping to explore the region’s pride and joy, Mt Taranaki. After a night at Maketawa Hut, Mr Vasicek returned to the North Egmont Visitor Centre to check the weather on the mountain.
