Cyprus: British tourist drowns after saving another man from swift currents

Posted on October 20, 2013 • Filed under: Mediterranean, Tourist Drowned reports that Keith West, 50, from Sheffield, had entered the sea on the first day of his holiday, after seeing a man in difficulty. He managed to pull the man to safety but lost his own footing and was dragged underwater by the current. A lifeguard went into the water to search for him, but it was ten minutes before Mr West’s body could be recovered and he could not be revived.
