California: Small plane crashes near Sonoma Skypark airport

Ktvu.com reported that, Two men escaped injury Friday when their small plane hit berry bushes at a small airport east of Sonoma, a police sergeant said. The pilot, Leon Scarbrough, 74, of Sonoma, said he was conducting touch-and-go land-and-take-off practice exercises at the Sonoma Skypark airport when the plane got off course and went onto grass off the runway, Sgt. Spencer Crum said. The Sonoma Police Department responded at 11:45 a.m. Scarbrough said he throttled up and tried to get the plane to lift up but it hit the bushes, Crum said. Read article
