St Barthelemy Caribbean: Plane carrying tourists from France crashes into home, 20 dead

A small plane has crashed on the Caribbean island of St Barthelemy, killing 19 people on board and one person on the ground. The Caribbean Airlines plane departed from Princess Juliana Airport on the island of St Martin on Saturday afternoon and crashed into a house near the St Barthelemy Airport on the nearby French island, said Herve Siffre, French Gendarme spokesman on St Barthelemy. The plane crashed while preparing to land at the airport on the mountainous island, Siffre said. A man was killed when the Twin Otter propeller-driven plane crashed into his house in a field near the airport, and his wife was in the hospital with serious injuries. Read Article
