Australia-bound flight makes emergency in San Francisco

According to, a United Airlines jet made an emergency landing at San Francisco International Airport on Sunday morning roughly an hour after lifting off on a trans-oceanic journey. United Flight 863 had departed SFO at 11:45 p.m. Saturday bound for Sydney, Australia, according to an airport spokesperson. The Boeing 747-400 returned and touched down without incident at 12:50 a.m. “due to an engine issue,” according to a statement from United Airlines. Read article
