Yemen: International Training Development Center reports American teacher killed by unidentified gunmen

Two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle shot and killed American teacher Joel Shrum, 30, on Sunday (March 18), according to a statement by the International Training Development Center in Taiz, where the victim worked. Shrum, his wife and two young children had lived in Yemen since 2010. A text message that was circulated by mobile phone in Yemen after the attack said that “holy warriors” had killed “a senior missionary” in the central city of Taiz. That being said, there has been no claim of responsibility for Shrum’s death by al-Qaeda or any of its surrogates. Read article
