U.S. Tourist Murdered in Medellin Colombia

58-year-old Denis Ian Levy was shot dead in El Tamarindo hostel in the city’s El Poblado district shortly after midnight Wednesday.
In a hostel in the neighborhood Provence, in the village, unknown assailants killed yesterday in the morning, the American tourist Denis Ian Levy.
The New Yorker, 49, received a shot in the chest and was found wounded in the room where he was staying. Apparently the motive for the killing was the theft of money and its objects. Authorities say three people have come to the site on Tuesday night and registered as guests of the hostel, which is situated at 7 with the race 35. On the facts, the Metropolitan Police Commander, General Yesid Vasquez said that “they were looking for tourist’s room and opened in which were his belongings.” He added that “he was asked to open a box in which he found 20,000 pesos and there began the problems.”
Apparently there was a struggle and handed him the assailants shot the stranger, who fell to the floor. According to authorities, criminals, two women and a man, fled with valuables of tourists. Read Article
