U.K. Health Alert: Measles outbreak in Wales worsens, over 1,100 confirmed cases

As reported by walesonline.co.uk, “The number of cases of measles in one of the biggest outbreaks seen in the UK in more than 20 years, has now topped 1,000, officials have confirmed. Public Health Wales said there had now been 1,011 cases of the potentially fatal disease since the outbreak, centred in the ABMU, Powys and Hywel Dda health board areas, began in November. A total of 84 people have been hospitalised. An extra 69 cases have been confirmed in the outbreak area since Thursday. Although still centred on Swansea, measles has been recorded in every health board area, with the number of cases recorded across the whole of Wales standing at 1,142.” Read Article
