Turkey: Fifteen people drown in separate incidents near seaside resorts

As the summer brings with it unbearable heat, many people resort to swimming in seas, rivers and reservoirs to cool off. However, the fun often ends in tragedy. Fifteen people drowned over the weekend as crowds flocked to shores at the end of a sweltering week. According to media reports, three people drowned in Batman province; two each in Samsun and Bartın provinces while eight others drowned in the provinces of İstanbul, Giresun, Kocaeli, Artvin, Ordu, Zonguldak, Sinop and Denizli.
