Tourist from U.S. missing in Peru

U.S. Tourist Missing in Madre de Dios

According to Peru21.pe, U.S. citizen Joseph Keith Nolan (sic) Kyle Joseph Nolan, age 18, is reported missing for twelve days in the region of Madre de Dios. His family has arrived in Peru requesting assistance from authorities.

The tourist arrived on August 14, 2012, at Puerto Maldonado. He was attending a spiritual retreat at the shelter Shimbre Shamanic Center which is located at kilometer 9 on the highway Tres Islas – Puerto Maldonado.

José Pineda Vargas, the manager of the retreat indicated that the tourist left the shelter on August 23, 2012, and has not been heard from since. The mother of the America Ingeborg Eswalo stated that he was scheduled to return to the United States on August 27, 2012, but Peru immigration confirmed that he did not leave Peru according to their records.
