Thick Indonesian haze moves into southern Thailand

Xinhua news reports that heavy haze from Indonesia, which has already expanded to Singapore and Malaysia, is now across Thailand’s southernmost part, affecting the daily lives of local residents, Thai News Agency reported on Tuesday. The smog-seasonal atmospheric pollution, caused by the burning of large-scale rice fields and forests in Indonesia’s Sumatra Island, has caused very low visibility of only 300-400 meters in Thailand’s southernmost Narathiwat province.
