The State’s Fisheries Department names West Australia’s southwest region official deadliest place in the world

Western Australia’s popular southwest tourist region is officially the deadliest place in the world for shark attacks, after a fourth death in less than seven months. The state’s Fisheries Department confirmed on Sunday it had called off the search for the killer shark but beaches between Bunbury and Busselton, about 200km south of Perth, would remain closed following the death of 33-year-old local diver Peter Kurmann.
