Stranded Russian climber rescued in Philippines

Gmanetwork.com reports that a Russian man who found himself injured and stranded on Mayon Volcano after climbing it despite warnings from locals was finally rescued Thursday afternoon. Mark Yuchagaev, 28, was brought to a hospital in Legazpi City, Albay aboard a helicopter, radio dzBB’s Tuesday Niu reported. Col. Generoso Bolina, deputy of the Army’s 901st Infantry Brigade, said Yuchagaev arrived at Legazpi City at 4 p.m. Other than a broken leg, the climber was in good condition, he said. Read article
