Santiago, Chile: Increased cases of Meningitis confirmed Institute of Public Health

Despite the discovery of 98 new cases of meningitis in Chile, the Institute of Public Health assures citizens that the infection has not reached epidemic levels. SANTIAGO — These meningitis cases have been appearing “in a sporadic way,” says director of the Institute of Public Health, María Teresa Velenzuela. The institution has asked that all labs deliver samples of the outbreak to them as quickly as possible in order to protect biosafety. Read article
