Oregon: Climber goes missing on Mt. Hood

Statesmanjournal.com reports that search and rescue teams are looking for a Salem climber who is overdue on Mount Hood. According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the male climber was reported overdue as of 9 p.m. Saturday, six hours after he was expected to return. The climber, whose name and age have not yet been released, had registered at Timberline Lodge to climb the Leuthold Couloir route, and his vehicle was found in the lodge’s parking lots. He is an experienced climber who has taken that route before, sheriff’s office staff said. Read article
