Nepal: Bag Handlers arrested for stealing passengers valuables at an airport

KATHMANDU: Security officials at the Tribhuvan International Airport said they are keeping a close watch on baggage handlers in the wake of growing complaints of theft of valuables from passengers’ luggage. Deputy Inspector General of Police Narayan Prasad Bastakoti, security in-charge at the country’s only international airport, informed that pro-active measures of police had resulted in the arrest of five baggage handlers involved in stealing high-priced electronic goods from bags belonging to passengers landing at the airport in the past three months.
