Italy: German arrested in Naples for carrying a sword in public

According to ansa.it, Italian police on Monday arrested a German tourist for carrying a samurai sword near a popular Catholic shrine to the Virgin Mary in Naples. The man, 62, said he had the ‘katana’, in a case on his back, to defend himself. Carabinieri stopped the tourist outside the shrine of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary in the Naples suburb of Pompei.
