Greek tourist dies Cyprus in motorbike accident

GREEK national Apostolos Makris, 51, was killed on Sunday after his motorbike collided head-on with a truck, driven by a 28-year-old man from Limassol who abandoned the scene. The 28-year-old, who was yesterday remanded for three days, was chased by police, who found two grinders – one with traces of white powder and the other with a green substance, both believed to be narcotics – in his truck.According to police, the accident occurred a little after 11am on Sunday on Amathounta Avenue, when the 28-year-old lost control of his truck and skidded into the other side of the road, colliding head-on with Makris’ motorbike.
