German climber rescued after being injured on mountain in New Zealand

Yahoo News New Zealand reports that a terrifying ordeal for a tourist left stranded on Mt Ruapehu after falling, fracturing his leg, and losing all means of communicating with emergency services. The German man fell near the top of the Te Heu Heu Valley around midday yesterday and slid for some distance on ice and snow before smashing into rocks. He had to scream for help until a nearby climber heard his calls and notified emergency services. Read article
