Falcon Heights, Texas: Mexican police arrested suspect for the killing of U.S. tourist

The Mexican government announced that marines arrested Alfonso Martínez Escobedo, 31, accused of being a high-ranking member of the Zetas and of taking part in some of the most horrific and high-profile killings in northern Mexico, including the slaying of U.S. tourist David Michael Hartley on Falcon Lake two years ago and the slaughter of hundreds in a rural area in northeastern Mexico. The arrest of Martínez, known as “La Ardilla,” Spanish for “the Squirrel,” was Saturday in the border city of Nuevo Laredo. Read article
