Dublin, Ireland: Employees at Air Lingus airport plan to strike due to work dispute

From media reports: RTE News reported on Thursday that workers of Aer Lingus who are members of Services Industrial Professional and Technical Union’s aviation sector are planning to strike from Monday, 1 October 2012. The union called for work stoppages because of an alleged “breach of collective agreements,” part of an ongoing work dispute concerning pensions. The airline is assessing the situation and stated it would communicate with passengers concerning alternative travel arrangements in the event the threatened strike takes place. Read article
