Canada: Authorities at St. John’s International Airport says Union rejected negotiations

The St. John’s International Airport Authority said today it has repeatedly stated its willingness to re-start negotiations in the current strike by airport workers but its efforts have been rejected by the union representing the workers. About 85 airport workers, members of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees local 90916, have been on strike since Sept. 11. The workers provide operational and maintenance services, including runway clearing, building upkeep and emergency services.
