American embassy in Australia attacked by man who tried to ram its gate

3news.co.nz reports that a car crashed into the main gate of the US Embassy in Canberra last night but caused little damage. Police in the capital said they arrested the driver and were trying to determine whether the act was intentional. Roads around the embassy were closed as police, ambulance and firefighters swarmed the scene. A police bomb squad inspected the car, but found no explosives or anything suspicious, Australian Capital Territory police said.
