Women visitors to Charminar complain that harassment of women is not considered a serious offence by people and police. Many such complaints are treated on the basis of ‘gravity of the situation,’ though most go unreported to police. Shruti Rayavarapu, an MBA graduate said, “If one is walking through the Laad Bazaar stretch, shopkeepers address you as ‘babyji’ and try to whistle to get your attention.
