Australia-bound flight makes emergency in San Francisco

According to sfgate.com, a United Airlines jet made an emergency landing at San Francisco International Airport on Sunday morning roughly an hour after lifting off on a trans-oceanic journey. United Flight 863 had departed SFO at 11:45 p.m. Saturday bound for Sydney, Australia, according to an airport spokesperson. The Boeing 747-400 returned and touched down without incident at 12:50 a.m. “due to an engine issue,” according to a statement from United Airlines. Read article

Dozen injured after vehicle drives into pedestrians at Venice Beach, California

As reported by Nbcnews.com, twelve people were injured when a vehicle drove into pedestrians in Venice, Calif., according to tweets from the Los Angeles Fire Department. Two of those injured were in critical condition and two were in serious condition, the fire department said. The others suffered minor injuries. Read Article
