France: Forty passengers reported injured in train collision

Forty people were injured, four of them seriously, in a collision between a high-speed TGV and a regional train near the southwest French city of Pau on Thursday, authorities said. French authorities say that the two trains were carrying a total of 238 passengers at the time of the collision. The local Pyrenées-Atlantiques prefectural spokesman Patrice Abbadie said that no fatalities are expected. The collision occurred in Denguin, a small city near Pau, when a national TGV train bound for Paris collided head-on with a regional train during the busy evening commute, said Abbadie. Read Article
