Telegraph.co.uk reported that two British women are being held by police in Brazil after allegedly trying to smuggle almost 8lbs of cocaine through customs. The women, both believed to be 23-years-old, were arrested at Guarulhos airport in Sao Paulo en route to London. They were stopped at the boarding gate after sniffer dogs indicated they were carrying drugs, which were found concealed in plastic bags hidden in the panels of a suitcase. Read Article

Galapagos Islands – Ecuador German tourist Dirk Bender has been convicted of animal trafficking in a Quito court where he was accused of altering the ecosystem. The defendant could receive from two to four years in prison. Dirk Bender attempted to smuggle four iguanas from the Galapagos in July of 2013. Read Article
