Yemen: American photographer kidnapped from busy street in Sana’a

According to themedialine.org, an American editor and photographer who has been living in Yemen since 2011 was snatched by armed tribesmen in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a and taken to an unknown location, a security official told The Media Line. Luke Somers, 31, who has been working as an English language website editor for the media center of the National Dialogue Conference, was nabbed on one of Sana’a’s busiest streets, the security official said on condition of anonymity. Somers had also been working as a stringer photographer for several international news agencies including the BBC, Al-Jazeera, and Foreign Policy. Read article
