According to xinhuanet.com, a car bomb explosion struck a bus carrying Iranian pilgrims north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Monday, killing eight pilgrims and wounding 19 others, a provincial police source said. The attack occurred in the afternoon when a bomb-laden car parked on a main road near the city of Balad, some 80 km north of Baghdad, went off near the bus, leaving eight Iranian pilgrims dead and wounding 19 others, including five women, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
