According to stuff.co.nz, a New Zealand journalist is being held by Egyptian authorities – the latest arrest in what organisations are calling a “growing hostility” towards reporters. Former TVNZ reporter Wayne Hay, who has been reporting for Al Jazeera since 2006, has been in Egypt for less than a year. Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Caitlin Workman said Sunday that Canada’s embassy in Cairo is in contact with local authorities and is providing consular assistance to the two Canadians.
