Norway: Three out of five heliports statoil close due to security strike

Statoil ASA (STL), Norway’s largest oil producer, said it would be unable to fly about 1,500 workers to its offshore platforms as an escalating pay strike by airport security personnel is grounding helicopters. Three out of five heliports Statoil uses will be closed tomorrow, limiting take-offs to 11, spokesman Ola Anders Skauby said. That’s compared with the usual 50 to 60 return flights necessary to ensure personnel rotation on about 40 offshore installations. Read article

Bulgaria: Car crashed killed a Ukrainian women/16 people injured

A 56-year-old Ukrainian woman died and 16 other persons were injured after a motor coach filled with Ukrainian tourists was involved in a car crash. The Ukrainian tourists were returning from Bulgaria to Kiev. The car crash took place on the Focsani-Braila national road, between Maicanesti and Nanesti localities, Vrancea County. Read article

England: 267 cases of Stomach Bug reported to health agency

There have been 267 cases of the bug since May 11 across four areas of England, more than double the normal rate. The parasite Cryptosporidium is normally associated with contained swimming pools, lakes and salad foods but no source has yet been identified in this outbreak. Read article

Britain: Woman being treated in a London hospital died from Rabies contracted in South Asia
