Travel Warning, possible inspections for illegal drugs of tourist vehicles going into Mexico

The following article indcates that there has been an uptick in illegal drug trafficking from the U.S. to Mexico. Traffickers are using individuals and vehicles that have the appearance of being tourists. Mexican authorities are inspecting suspect vehicles entering Mexico therfore, there could be delays entering the country or at checkpoints.

Drug traffickers in Mexico and the U.S. are trading marijuana from the neighboring country to country, so the Mexican army has intensified review of foreign vehicles, including those who come to visit, said the commander of the Second Military Zone, Gilberto Landeros Briseño.
